Guapamatacaro Center for Art and Ecology : Appel à résidences

Guapamatacaro Center for Art and Ecology : Appel à résidences

Chaque année, le centre organise des sessions de résidence durant lesquelles les artistes collaborent et s'ouvrent à la communauté locale.

du 27 août 2013 au 01 septembre 2013

Guapamatacaro Center for Art and Ecology

RESIDENCY

Each year we hold 1 to 3 residency sessions in Winter/Spring (February through June). During their stay (3 weeks), participants use the hacienda grounds as a laboratory for the creative process and engaging with the local community. They are free to work whenever desired in the provided studios and anywhere in the property. Experimentation is encouraged as is discourse and collaboration. Daily group activities such as morning stretch and meditation, and occasional guided walks and fieldtrips to nearby towns and natural areas are often organized, depending on people’s interests. Because of the relative inaccessibility of the place and a desired cohesiveness of the group, all participants are required to be there the whole time, arriving and departing on specific dates and times.
NEXT APPLICATION DEADLINE : September 1st, 2013

– For our next residency session (June 2-22, 2014), the following additional support is available:

  • 1 half scholarship for a participant from Mexico: pay $3,000 pesos instead of $6,000 of 3 weeks’ living costs. Awarded based on merits and financial need.
  • 1 half scholarship for a participant from Central America (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Panama) or the Caribbean (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and other islands): pay $3,000 pesos instead of $6,000 of 3 weeks’ living costs. Awarded based on merits and financial need.
  • 1 internship/work exchange position for a college student from any country: work 20 hours per week in exchange of 3 weeks’ living costs ($6,000 pesos). Click here for details.
