“RETROFUTUR : une contre histoire des innovations énergétiques”.
We begin 2016 (our 10th year in operation) with enthusiasm and determination, continuing to implement our mission of a site-based and community-oriented initiative where artists from different disciplines, scientists, educators and activists converge to foster culture, collaboration and sustainable development.
Our goal this year is to improve our physical infrastructure in order to expand our programming and outreach. To achieve this, we are in the third and final phase of our Growing Green Capital Campaign.Of the initial $10,000 needed, we still need to raise $3,860 by January 31st, 2016. These funds are being allocated towards much needed architectural and ecological restoration of our 1800’s site. These improvements will allow us to better implement our sustainable development mission in rural Mexico, as well as supporting international cultural exchange.
With your help, we will:
– Replace outdated plumbing, to follow ecological standards and better process our waste waters.
– Implement a new program of organic food production: Fruit trees, a year-round vegetable garden, and a field with “The 3 Sisters” traditional companion planting (corn, beans and squash).
– Convert the old barn into a functioning multi-purpose room, providing much-needed space to host income-generating workshops and events.
Please consider contributing to Guapamacátaro’s campaign! Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Visit our IndieGogo crowdfunding platform to learn more, and securely make your donations.
